Exodus, 7

21. The fish in the River died, and the River stank; and the Egyptians could no longer drink the River water. Throughout the whole of Egypt there was blood.

In Exodus 7, God begins to show His power before Pharaoh and the Egyptian people through Moses and Aaron, sending several pests over Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery. Exodus 7:17-"Thus saith the Lord," Thou shalt know that I am the Lord; behold, I have this rod in my hand I will wound the waters in the river, and become blood. " Here, God announces the first plague we will send over Egypt, transforming the waters of the Nile River into blood.

Exodus 7:22 - "Then the wizards of Egypt did the same with their enchantments; and the heart of Pharaoh hardened, and did not hear them, as the Lord had said." This verse shows how the Egyptian wizards managed to replicate the transformation of water into blood through their own enchantments, but Pharaoh was not convinced to release the Hebrews.

Exodus 7:25 - "And seven days passed after the Lord wounded the river." This verse marks the end of the first plague, and shows how God's pests were progressively getting worse and lasting longer, intensifying the pressure on Pharaoh to release the Hebrews.
