Jeremiah, 12

5. If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and [if] in the land of peace, [wherein] thou trustedst, [they wearied thee], then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

Versi relativi a Jeremiah, 12:

Jeremiah 12 deals with God's righteousness and the prophet's understanding of the suffering of the righteous before the wicked. The chapter begins with Jeremiah questioning God about why the wicked prosper as the righteous suffer. God responds to Jeremiah that he will have to deal with his neighbors, who betrayed him and attacked him. Following are five verses related to the topics addressed in Jeremiah 12:

Psalm 37:7: "Rest in the Lord and wait in Him; do not indignant to you because of the one who thrives in his way, because of the man who performs inform cunning." This verse encourages to trust God and not jealous of the wicked who thrive in their ways, for in the end the righteousness of God will prevail.

Isaiah 13:11: "I will punish the world because of its wickedness, and the wicked because of their iniquity; I will cease the arrogance of the boldness, and shake the haughtiness of the cruel." God promises to punish the wicked for their iniquity and arrogance, showing that justice will be done, although it may take time.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-7: "For it is righteous before God to repay with tribulation to those who bind you, and to you, who you are troubled, relief with us. This will be in the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with the angels of your power. " This verse talks about the righteousness of God, which will return to tribulation those who caused tribulation to the righteous.

Hebrews 11:32-38: These verses describe many examples of righteous who have suffered but remained faithful to God. They include Abraham, Moses, Gideon, and many others who were persecuted, tortured and killed because of their faith. The author of the Epistle to the Hebrews argues that although these righteous have suffered, God was still faithful and rewarded them.

James 5:7-8: "He thirsts, brothers, patients until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer expects the precious fruit of the land, waiting for him with patients, until he receives the temporary rain and serod. patients and strengthen your heart, because the coming of the Lord is near. " James encourages patience and perseverance in moments of suffering, trusting in the coming of the Lord and his final justice.
