Numbers, 11

33. As yet the flesh was between their teeth, neither had that kind of meat failed: when behold the wrath of the Lord being provoked against the people, struck them with an exceeding great plague.

Chapter 11 of numbers submits the complaint of the people of Israel in the desert, who tired of eating manna and want to have meat to eat. Moses complains to God about the weight of leading the people and asks for help to rule. God then sends a wind that brings quails to the camp and allows seventy elders to help Moses govern. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

Genesis 18:14: "Is there anything too difficult to the Lord? At the given time I will make you, at this time of life, and Sarah will have a son." Just as God provided flesh to the people of Israel in the desert, he also fulfilled his promise to give a son to Sarah, even when she was too old to have children.

Psalm 78:18: "And they tried God in their hearts, asking for food according to their appetite." This verse relates to the complaint of the people of Israel in the desert, who wanted to have flesh to eat, even after God had managed to them.

Exodus 18:18: "Certainly thou hast, so you like this people who are with you; for this business is very difficult for you, you just do not do so." Just as Moses felt overwhelmed by the task of leading the people of Israel, Jetro, his father -in -law, also acknowledged that he needed help to rule the people.

Deuteronomy 1:9-13: "And in those days I said to you, 'I can't, alone, carry all the weight of this people; the burden is too heavy for me. How can I, alone, face your disputes and problems? wise, careful and experienced men of each of your tribes to put as leaders about you. ' "This verse also relates to Moses's request to help the people of Israel.

Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all who are tired and overwhelmed, and I will relieve them. Take upon you my yoke and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for the your souls. For my yoke is soft and my burden is light. " This verse relates to the weight that Moses felt in the leadership of the people of Israel and the help God provided through the seventy elders and the wind that brought quails. It is also a promise of rest and relief for all those who feel overwhelmed and tired.
