Genesis, 22

9. When they arrived at the place which God had indicated to him, Abraham built an altar there, and arranged the wood. Then he bound his son and put him on the altar on top of the wood.

Genesis 22 tells Abraham's story being tested by God when asked to sacrifice his son Isaac as a holocaust. Abraham obeys and prepares to do so, but at the last moment, an angel prevents the sacrifice and provides a ram to be sacrificed instead. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7: "But I say this: the one who sows little, little will also reap; and the one who sows in abundance, in abundance will also reap. Each one contributes according to his heart; not with sadness, not by embarrassment ; for God loves what gives with joy. " These verses relate to the theme of sacrifice in Genesis 22, highlighting the importance of giving generously and joyfully.
