Deuteronomy 1 is a chapter where Moses recalls the history of the Israelites since they left Egypt until they reached the border of the promised land. He also urges the people to trust God and obey their commandments so that they can receive the blessings he has promised. Here are five verses related to the topics addressed in Deuteronomy 1:
Exodus 18:20-"Teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do." Moses reminds the people that God has given them laws and statutes to follow, and that it is important to teach and obey them.
Deuteronomy 6:4-6 - "Hear, Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and of all thy forces.
