Psalm 74 is a lament of the people of Israel for the destruction of the temple and the city of Jerusalem. In the psalm, the author calls God to intervene and restore his land and his people. The following verses are related to the topics addressed in this Psalm:
Lamentations 5:20: "Why do you forget us forever and abandon us for such a long time?" This verse is a lament similar to that of Psalm 74, in which the author questions the apparent absence of God amid the suffering of his people.
