Chapter 1 of the Numbers Book describes the Census of Men of Israel who were able to fight in war. The purpose of this census was to determine how many men were in each tribe that were in a military age and therefore would be eligible to fight for the nation of Israel. The verses below are related to the topics addressed in numbers 1:
Numbers 26:2 - "Takes the census of the entire congregation of the children of Israel since the age of twenty years, according to the houses of parents, all who can go out to war in Israel." This verse is similar to numbers 1, as it also talks about a census of men in Israel who are able to fight in war.
Exodus 30:12 - "When you make the sum of the children of Israel according to their number, each one will give the Lord the rescue of his soul, when he tells them; so that there is no plague between them when they tell them." This verse is related because it talks about the importance of giving a ransom when telling the people of Israel to avoid a plague.
2 Samuel 24:1-2-"And the wrath of the Lord again lit against Israel, and incited David against them, saying, Go, numbered Israel and Judah. Then the king said to Joab, head of the army , who was with Him: now goes through all the tribes of Israel, from Dã to Beersba, and make a census of the people, so that I know the number of the people. Deuteronomy 20:1 - "When you go out to the battle against your enemies, and you see horses, and cars, and more numerous people than you, do not have, for the Lord your God is with you, who took you out of the earth of Egypt." This verse is related because it talks about the importance of trusting God, even when facing an enemy with a great army, and reminds the Israelites that the Lord had been with them since the Exodus of Egypt.
