Isaiah, 9

12. The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [is] stretched out still.

Isaiah 9 is a chapter that brings a message of hope, promising the coming of a great leader who will bring the light to a people who are in darkness. This leader is described as a child who will be given to us, whose government will bring peace, justice and security. Isaiah 42:1: "Here is my servant, whom I support my chosen, whom I have pleasure. I put in him my spirit, and he will bring justice to the nations."
