Chapter 15 of Genesis begins with God reaffirming his promise to give Abraham a large descent and a land to live. Abraham expresses his concern about this, and God makes a pact with him, symbolized by the sacrifice of animals. Abraham falls asleep and God gives him a prophetic vision of the future of his people. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in Genesis 15:
Psalm 105:9-11: "He remembers forever from his covenant, the word he ordered, for a thousand generations, of the covenant he made with Abraham, of the oath he made to Isaac. He confirmed him as a decree to Jacob, as a covenant eternal to Israel ". This psalm speaks of the covenant God made with Abraham and how she was extended to her descendants.
Romans 4:3: "For what does Scripture say? Abraham believed in God, and that was credited to him as justice." This verse is a reference to the moment God made the promise of a great descent to Abraham, and he believed in God.
Hebrews 6:13-14: "When God made the promise to Abraham, as there was no one greater for whom he swore, he swore for himself, saying, I will surely bless you and multiply the descendants." This verse highlights the fact that God made a promise to Abraham and fulfilled her.
Galatians 3:16: "The promises were made to Abraham and his descendant. Scripture does not say," And the descendants, "wanting to mean many, but" and his descendant, "wanting to mean one, who is Christ." This verse highlights the importance of Abraham's descent and his relationship with Jesus Christ.
John 8:56: "Abraham, Father of Yours, rejoiced with the thought of seeing my day; He saw him and rejoiced." This verse speaks of the prophetic vision that God gave to Abraham, showing him the future, including the coming of Jesus Christ.
