Hosea, 2

1. Protest against your mother, protest! for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove her harlotry from before her, her adultery from between her breasts,

Chapter 2 of the Book of Hosea addresses the relationship between God and Israel, comparing it with a marriage in crisis. The prophet Hosea talks about the infidelity of Israel and the punishment that will come because of it. He then talks about Israel's repentance and the restoration of the relationship with God. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Hosea 2, in order of proximity to the chapter:

Isaiah 54:5: "For your Creator is your husband; the Lord of hosts is His name; and the Holy of Israel is thy Redeemer; which is called the God of all the earth." This verse talks about God's relationship with his people, comparing it with a marriage. This relates to the central theme of Hosea 2.

Jeremiah 3:1: "They say, If a man says goodbye to his wife, and she leaves him, and gathering himself to another man, will he make him more to her? Isn't it such a contaminated land? ; but still, come back to me, says the Lord. " This verse also talks about the theme of infidelity and restoration of the relationship with God.

Ezekiel 16:38: "And I will judge you as the adulters and those who pour blood, and give you to the blood of indignation and zeal." This verse talks about the punishment that comes as a result of infidelity. Hosea 2 also talks about the punishment that will come about Israel because of its infidelity.

Isaiah 54:7-8: "For a brief moment I left you, but with great compassion I will collect you; in a moment of indignation I hid my face for a moment; but with eternal kindness I will sympathize with you, says the Lord, Your Redeemer. " This verse talks about the restoration of God's relationship with his people, even after a period of punishment. This relates to the theme of Hosea 2 about Israel's repentance and the restoration of his relationship with God.

Isaiah 62:5: "For as the young man marries the virgin, so your children will marry you; and as the groom rejoices in the bride, thus rejoicing with you your God." This verse talks about God's love for his people and his joy in seeing them restored to him. This relates to the theme of Hosea 2 about the restoration of God's relationship with Israel.
