Deuteronomy 29 deals with the renewal of the covenant between God and the people of Israel after the death of Moses. Deuteronomy 30:19-20: "Today I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you, which I put before you life and death, blessing and curse. Now choose life, so that you and your children may Live and love the Lord, your God, listen to your voice and get to Him. For the Lord is His life, and He will give you many years in the earth who swore to give to his ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jeremiah 31:31-33: "Days will come, declares the Lord, in which I will make a new covenant with Israel and Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with his ancestors when I took them by the hand to get them out of Egypt, for they broke my covenant, although I am their Lord. This is the covenant I will do with the community of Israel after those days, declares the Lord. I will put my law in their heart and write it in their hearts. God, and they will be my people. " This verse speaks of the promise of a new covenant between God and the people of Israel, which will be written in the hearts of the faithful and not just on stone tablets.
Matthew 26:28: "This is my blood, which ratifies the covenant, shed for many for the forgiveness of sins." This verse refers to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, which ratified a new covenant between God and humanity through the forgiveness of sins.
