Psalms, 51

4. Against you, you alone, I have sinned, I have done what you see to be wrong, that you may show your saving justice when you pass sentence, and your victory may appear when you give judgement,

Psalm 51 is a penitential psalm attributed to King David after his sin with Bathsheba. In the psalm, David calls for mercy and forgiveness to God, recognizing his guilt and asking the Lord to create a pure heart in him. The verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 51 are:

1 Kings 15:5: "For David did what was straight before the Lord and did not deviate from all that he had commanded him every day of his life, but in the case of Uriah, the Hitheum."
