Chapter 3 of Acts of the Apostles narrates the healing of a lame man who was at the temple door asking for alms. Peter and John, as they pass him, heal him in the name of Jesus Christ. This episode results in a great commotion of the people who witnessed the miracle and Peter takes the opportunity to preach about Jesus as the Messiah and urges the people to repentance and conversion. The verses related to the themes of the chapter are:
Psalm 103:3: "He is the one who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your illnesses" Peter and John cure a man who was sick from birth, showing that Jesus is able to heal and forgive sins.
Acts of the Apostles 2:38: "Peter answered them, He repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Peter preaches about repentance and conversion, showing that it is through Jesus that we can be forgiven and receive the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 53:5: "But he was wounded because of our transgressions, and ground because of our iniquities; the punishment that brings us peace was upon him, and by his footsteps we were healed." The healing of man lame through faith in Jesus Christ occurs in compliance with a prophecy of Isaiah, which shows that he was wounded to give us peace and heal us.
Matthew 4:23: "And Jesus roamed all Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all the diseases and diseases among the people." The healing of the lame man in Acts 3 is an example of the continuation of the ministry of Jesus Christ, who healed the sick and preached the gospel.
