1 Chronicles, 2

55. And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, [and] Suchathites. These [are] the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.

1 Chronicles 2 begins with the genealogy of the children of Israel, starting with Judah and their descendants, including the lineage of King David. The chapter also mentions other tribes of Israel and its genealogies. Some of the topics covered in 1 chronicles 2 include descent, weddings, children and grandchildren. Genesis 38:6: "And Judah took a woman to ER, her firstborn, and her name was Tamar." This verse speaks of the marriage of ER, son of Judah, with Tamar, which relates to the mention of the children of Judah in 1 chronicles 2.
