Revelation, 4

8. And each of the four living creatures had upon them six wings, and all around and within they are full of eyes. And they took no rest, day or night, from saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.”

Revelation 4 describes the view of the heavenly throne and the worship of living beings and elders before the throne. This view is an introduction to the rest of the book, which reveals the future events that culminate in the final triumph of God and His people.

Isaiah 6:1-3: "In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a tall and exalted throne, and the flap of his dress filled the temple. Serafins were over him; each had six wings: With two covered their face, with two covered their feet and with two flew. And they proclaimed each other: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.' " This vision of Isaiah is similar to John's view in Revelation 4, for both describe God's majesty and holiness sitting on his heavenly throne.

Ezekiel 1:26-28: "Above the firmament that was on its heads there was something like a throne of sapphire, and, very high, what seemed like a throne, a figure like that of a man. That looked like the waist down it looked fire, and what looked like the waist up seemed shine shine, like polished metal. Like the appearance of a rainbow that appears in the middle of the rain, so it was the brightness around it. It was the appearance of the glory of the Lord. " The book of Ezekiel also presents a view of the heavenly throne of God, and the description resembles the description of Revelation 4.

Psalm 29:2: "Give the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness." This verse of psalms is a call to worship of God, which is a central theme in Revelation 4, where living beings and elders worship the Lord before His throne.

Psalm 47:8: "God reigns over the nations; God is sitting in His holy throne." This verse of the psalms emphasizes God's sovereignty and its reign over the nations, which is reflected in the view of the heavenly throne in Revelation 4.
