1 Samuel, 1

3. This man regularly went on pilgrimage from his city to worship the LORD of hosts and to sacrifice to him at Shiloh, where the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were ministering as priests of the LORD.

1 Samuel 1 tells the story of Ana, a sterile woman who fervently prayed for a son. God answered his supplications and she gave birth to Samuel, who later became a great prophet of Israel. Here are five verses related to topics covered in this chapter:

This verse talks about the importance of prayer and mutual support in the Christian community, something Ana found in the house of God, where she poured her heart before the Lord.
