1 Timothy 5 deals with issues related to the conduct of church leaders, beware of the elders, beware of widows and discipline in the church. Next are five Bible verses that relate to these themes and are not part of 1 Timothy 5:
1 Peter 5:1-2: "Therefore, to the elders among you, I pray, elder like them, and witness to the sufferings of Christ, and still co-participant of the glory that must be revealed: pastoreal the flock of God that there is among you, not by embarrassment, but spontaneously, as God wants; not for sordid greed, but of goodwill. " Peter talks here about the responsibility of the elders (or elders) to pasture God's flock voluntarily and not for selfish reasons.
Matthew 15:4: "For God commanded, Honor Your Father and Your Mother; And: He who Maldress to his Father or his mother will surely die." In this verse, Jesus quotes the commandment to honor father and mother, which is important for the care of the elders mentioned in 1 Timothy 5.
James 1:27: "The pure and without macula religion, toward our God and the Father, is this: to visit the orphans and the widows in their tribulations and to keep themselves uncontaminated in the world." James emphasizes here the importance of taking care of widows and orphans, which is an important theme in 1 Timothy 5.
2 Corinthians 2:6-8: "It is sufficient for him the punishment that was inflicted on him by the majority; so, on the contrary, you must rather forgive and comfort it, so that it is not consumed by excessive sadness. I pray you that you confirm to Him your love. " Paul talks here about the importance of discipline in the church, but also emphasizes the need for forgiveness and comfort.
Philippians 2:14-16: "Do everything without murmuring or strife; so that you may become blameless and sincere, children of God inculpable in the midst of a perverted and corrupt generation, in which you shine like lights in the world, preserving the word of life. " Paul talks here about the importance of the blameless conduct of Christians in the face of a corrupted world, which is relevant to the discussion of the conduct of leaders in the Church in 1 Timothy 5.
