Jeremiah, 51

9. “We would have cured Babylon, but there is no cure. Let us abandon her, and let each one of us go to his own land. For her judgment has reached even to the heavens, and has been lifted up even to the clouds.

Chapter 51 of Jeremiah talks about the fall and destruction of Babylon, which will be punished by God because of his arrogance and cruelty. Isaiah 13:19: "Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, glory and pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God destroyed them." This verse speaks of the fall of Babylon, which will be punished for its arrogance and sins against God.

Jeremiah 50:46: "Listen to the cry of Babylon; the sound of great destruction comes from the land of the Chaldeans." This verse speaks of the imminent destruction of Babylon and the cry that will be heard throughout the earth.
