2 John, 1

12. There are several things I have to tell you, but I have thought it best not to trust them to paper and ink. I hope instead to visit you and talk to you in person, so that our joy may be complete.

2 St. John 1 is a letter written by John directed to a specific Christian community, in which he warns of false teachers and asks them to continue following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Below are five verses from other Bible books related to the topics covered in this letter:

1 John 4:1 - "Beloved, do not believe every Spirit, but prove whether the spirits come from God, for many false prophets have come out around the world." John also warns of the presence of false prophets and the importance of discerning between what comes from God and what does not come.

Matthew 24:24 - "For false Christs and false prophets will rise, and will make such great signs and wonders that if possible they would deceive even the chosen ones." Jesus Christ also foresees the presence of false prophets and their ability to deceive many.

2 Peter 2:1 - "And there were also among the false prophets among the people, as there will also be false doctors who will covertly introduce heresies of perdition, and deny the Lord who rescued them, bringing upon themselves sudden perdition." Pedro also warns of false doctors and his heresies.

John 8:31-32 - "Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, If you remain in my Word, shall you truly be my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John highlights the importance of remaining in the teachings of Jesus Christ to know the truth.

1 John 2:24 - "Therefore, which from the beginning you have heard remains in you. If you remain what you have heard from the beginning, you will also remain in the Son and the Father." John reinforces the idea of remaining in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Father.
