Psalm 102 is a lament of a person who is suffering and feels distant from God. The psalmist expresses his sadness, but also trusts God's faithfulness and his ability to heal and restore. Below are five verses that relate to the themes of Psalm 102.
Psalm 34:18: "Near the lord of those who have a broken heart and save those of the oppressed spirit." This verse talks about God's proximity to those who are suffering and feel oppressed.
Psalm 103:13: "As a Father compasses himself of his children, so the Lord shakes himself from those who fear him." This verse talks about God's compassion towards his children, showing that he cares about their suffering.
Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, because I am with you, do not haunt yourself, because I am your God; I strengthen you, and help you, and I support you with my faithful right hand." This verse shows that God is a God of strengthening and help, capable of sustaining those who trust in Him.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Blessed be the God and the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Mercies and God of all consolation, who comforts us in all our tribulations, so that we may also comfort those who are in Some tribulation, with the consolation we are comforted by God. " This verse talks about God's ability to comfort us in our tribulation and, in turn, enables us to comfort others.
Romans 8:28: "We know that all things cooperate for the good of those who love God, those who are called according to their purpose." This verse talks about God's faithfulness to use all things, including suffering, for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
