2 Chronicles, 14

11. And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, [it is] nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou [art] our God; let not man prevail against thee.

2 Chronicles 14 narrates the story of King Asa of Judah, who did what was good and straight before the Lord, strengthening the cities of Judah and overcoming a great battle against the Ethiopian army that threatened him. The selected verses are:

Deuteronomy 20:4 - "For the Lord, your God, accompanies you and will fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." This verse illustrates how Wing was victorious in the battle against Ethiopians because it had God's help.

Proverbs 21:31 - "The horse is prepared for battle day, but victory comes from the Lord." This verse highlights the importance of preparing for battle, but victory is granted by the Lord.

Psalm 33:16-17 - "The king is not saved by the size of his army; the warrior does not escape his great strength. The horse is vain hope of victory; despite its great strength, it is unable to save." This verse emphasizes that victory depends not only on the size or strength of the army, but on God's help.

2 Chronicles 20:12 - "We do not know what to do, but our eyes turn to you." This verse shows Asa's confidence in God and his dependence on divine orientation.

2 Chronicles 20:17 - "They will not need to fight in this battle. Take their positions; remain firm and see the deliverance that the Lord will give them, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. They go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you '". This verse shows how God guaranteed the victory for Asa and his army without the need to fight in battle.
