Hosea, 6

3. He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. We shall know, and we shall follow on, that we may know the Lord. His going forth is prepared as the morning light, and he will come to us as the early and the latter rain to the earth.

Hosea 6 talks about the unfaithful and transgressive nature of the people of Israel, who returns to God only in times of despair, but quickly deflects again. Next are five verses from other parts of the Bible that relate to the topics addressed in Hosea 6.

Proverbs 21:3: "Practicing what is just and right is more acceptable to the Lord than to offer sacrifices." This verse highlights the importance of justice and righteousness in the life of a believer, rather than depending only on external religious rituals.

Jeremiah 7:9-10: "You steal, kill, commit adultery, swear falsely and burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known, and then come before me in the house that bears my name and says: 'We are saved ', just to continue doing all these bad things. " This excerpt shows how the people of Israel in the time of Jeremiah had deviated from God's ways and trusted only the external appearance of religiosity.

Hosea 4:6: "My people are being destroyed, because it lacks knowledge." This verse highlights the importance of knowledge and understanding of God's laws and ways to prevent destruction.

Isaiah 29:13: "This people approach me with my mouth and honor me with the lips, but their hearts are far from me. The worship that gives me is made only of rules taught by men." This verse shows how worship and devotion to God must be genuine and come from the heart rather than just mechanical and external rituals.

Ezekiel 33:31: "They come to you as if they were a people and sit before you as if they were my people, hear their words, but do not put them into practice. With their mouths they speak love, but their hearts seek only profit." This verse highlights how God's people should act according to God's words and not just talk about love and devotion.
