3. so that you may be able to write upon them all the words of this law, when you have crossed the Jordan so as to enter into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as he swore to your fathers.

Deuteronomy 27 is a chapter that presents instructions on the ceremony of consecration of God's law in the promised land. Deuteronomy 31:12-13: "Gather the people, men, women and children, and foreigners resident in their cities, that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord, their God, and carefully follow all the words of this law.
