Numbers 34 presents the description of the borders of the earth that God had promised Israel, and which should be divided between the tribes of Israel. The detailed description is provided through the reference points, starting in the south, passing the east, north and west. Here are five verses related to the themes of this chapter:
Joshua 13:6: "All the inhabitants of the hills, from Lebanon to Misrefote-Maím, that is, all the Sidonians, I will expel them from the Israelites. Only distribute this by the tribes of Israel as inheritance, how to them I ordered. " This verse refers to God's promise to give the land of Canaan to the children of Israel and the instruction to divide the earth among the tribes.
Joshua 13:33: "However, to the Levites, no inheritance has been given. The Lord, God of Israel, is his inheritance, as promised to them." This verse points out that the Levites, like priests of the Lord, did not receive territorial inheritance in the division of the earth.
Joshua 14:1-2: "These are the territories that the Israelites received by lot in the land of Canaan, which the priest Eleazar, Joshua, son of Num, and the leaders of the tribes of Israel distributed among them. Draw, as the Lord had commanded through Moses to the nine and a half tribes. " This verse presents the division of the land of Canaan between the tribes of Israel, which was made by lot, according to the Lord's instruction.
Joshua 19:51: "These are the inheritances that Eleazar, the priest, Joshua, son of Num, and the chims of the clans of the tribes of Israel distributed by the Lord, before the Lord, at the entrance of the tent of the meeting. They finished dividing the earth. " This verse describes how the division of the land of Canaan was completed in Silo in the presence of the Lord.
Joshua 21:43: "Thus the Lord gave Israel all the land that had promised under oath to his ancestors, and they conquered it and took it." This verse highlights God's faithfulness to fulfill his promise to give the land of Canaan to the children of Israel and Israel's faithfulness to conquer and possess it.
