26. While our wives and children, our herds and other livestock remain in the towns of Gilead,
Numbers 32 addresses the granting of Gilead's land to the tribes of Rúben and Gade, as well as half of the tribe of Manasseh. They ask to dwell the earth to the east of the Jordan River, which was fertile to their flocks, and Moses agrees on the condition that these tribes help the other tribes to conquer the land of Canaan west of Jordan.
