2 Samuel, 12

19. But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David perceived that the child was dead; and David said to his servants, "Is the child dead?" They said, "He is dead."

2 Samuel 12 Reports the confrontation of the prophet Nathan with King David, after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba and ordered to kill Uriah, his husband. This verse highlights the gravity of adultery and the destructive consequence it brings to the soul of the person.
