Numbers, 3

39. All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, [were] twenty and two thousand.

Numbers 3 describes the designation of Levi's children as priests and their assignment to specific tasks in the tabernacle service. Exodus 28:1: "Now call your brother Aaron and your children to join you, who will be chosen from the Israelites to serve as priests, to approach me and serve me."
