Luke, 24

1. On the sabbath the women rested according to the commandment, but the first day of the week, at dawn, they went to the tomb with the perfumes and ointments they had prepared.

John 11:25-26: "I am the resurrection and life. He who believes in me, even though he dies, will live; and all who lives and believes in me will not die, eternally." John 20:29: "Jesus said unto him, For thou hast seen, Thomas, grew; blessed those who have not seen and believed." These words of Jesus to Thomas, who needed to see Jesus risen to believe, indicate that faith is essential to believing in the resurrection of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:17: "And if Christ has not risen, it is vain for your faith, and you are still in your sins." These words of Paul show the importance of Jesus' resurrection as the basis for the Christian faith and for the salvation of sins.
