1 Samuel, 25

34. For as Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, he has prevented me from hurting you. If you did not hurry to meet me, not a single male belonging to Nabal would have been alive by morning."

1 Samuel 25 narrates the story of Abigail, wife of Nabal, a rude and foolish man who refuses to help David and his men in a moment of necessity. Romans 12:19: "You shall not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give the wrath of God, for it is written, My is revenge; I will reward, say the Lord." David trusts God to deal with those who offend him, instead of seeking revenge on his own.
