Deuteronomy 1 is a chapter where Moses recalls the history of the Israelites since they left Egypt until they reached the border of the promised land. Deuteronomy 6:4-6 - "Hear, Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and of all thy forces.
