19. He has slain oxen, and every kind of fattened cattle, and many rams. And he has summoned all the sons of the king, as well as Abiathar, the priest, and Joab, the leader of the military. But Solomon, your servant, he did not summon.

1 Kings 1 deals with David's succession to the throne of Israel. When David is already old and debilitated, Adonias, his eldest son, tries to usurp the throne for himself.
