Jeremiah, 43

5. Instead, Johanan, son of Kareah, and all the army leaders took along the whole remnant of Judah that had been dispersed among the nations and had returned thence to dwell again in the land of Judah:

Jeremiah 43 narrates the escape of the Jews to Egypt, even after they were warned by the prophet Jeremiah that this was not God's will. The verses below address themes related to this disobedience and rebellion of the people against God:

Jeremiah 42:19-20: "The Lord spoke to you, O remnant of Judah, do not enter Egypt. Know certainly that today I warned them today." This verse shows God's warning to the Jews, asking them not to Egypt.

Deuteronomy 28:68: "The Lord will take you back to Egypt in ships, through which I said that you would never see. There you will offer yourself as slaves to your enemies, but there will be no one who buy them." This verse talks about the curse of God that would fall upon the Jews if they rebelled against Him, being taken back to Egypt as slaves.

Jeremiah 42:13-14: "If you decide to stay on this earth, I will build them and will not destroy them; I will plant them and I will not tear them, because I am sorry for the evil I did to them. You fear now. Don't be afraid of him, says the Lord, for I am with you and will save you from your hands. " This verse shows God's promise to the Jews if they decided to stay on earth, trusting their protection and deliverance.

Exodus 13:21-22: "The Lord went ahead of them, during the day, in a cloud column, to guide them along the way, and at night, in a column of fire, so that they could walk so they could walk by day and night. He never abandoned the cloud column during the day, nor the column of fire at night before the people. " This verse shows God's leadership and protection over his people, guiding them through the cloud column during the day and the column of fire at night.

Psalm 106:7-8: "Our parents, in Egypt, did not understand your wonders, did not remember the multitude of your mercies, once rebuked by the sea, the Red Sea." This verse talks about the disobedience and rebellion of the Jewish parents in Egypt, who did not understand the wonders of God and rebelled against him.
