St. James Chapter 1 deals with perseverance in trial and the importance of listening and practicing the Word of God. To provide five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter, we will exclude St. James's verses.

Romans 5:3-4: "Not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, because we know that tribulation produces perseverance; perseverance, an approved character; and the approved character, hope." This verse shows that perseverance in trial produces a character approved by God and, finally, hope.

Luke 11:28: "But he answered, Rather, blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it!" This verse highlights the importance of listening and keeping the Word of God.

John 13:17: "You know these things, blessed you are if you practice them." This verse emphasizes the importance of practicing what is known, not just listening and knowing the Word of God.
