Wisdom of Solomon, 1

Proverbs 1:7: "The fear of the Lord is the principle of knowledge; the madmen despise wisdom and instruction." This verse emphasizes the importance of the Lord's fear as the basis for true wisdom and knowledge.

Proverbs 2:6-7: "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He reserves true wisdom to the straight; shield is for those who walk in sincerity." These verses point out that wisdom comes from God and is reserved for those who walk in sincerity.

Proverbs 3:13-18: "Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who acquires knowledge; because his merchandise is better than the silver merchandise, and his income than thin gold. More precious than jewelry, and all that you can desire cannot be compared to it. Long life of days is in your right hand; on your left, riches and honor. Your ways are ways of delights, and all your Veredas are peace. Proverbs 4:7: "Wisdom is the main thing; it acquires therefore wisdom, and with all your goods acquires understanding." This verse reinforces the importance of wisdom as the most important thing to seek.

Proverbs 9:10: "The fear of the Lord is the principle of wisdom, and the knowledge of the saint is prudence." This verse emphasizes once again that the fear of the Lord is the basis for true wisdom.
