Judith, 15

5. When the men of Israel heard this, they threw themselves on the enemy and pursued them as far as Choba. Even those from Jerusalem came, as well as those from all the mountainous region, because they were told what had happened in the camp of their enemies. Those from Gilead and from Galilee caught them on the flank and struck great blows against them until they reached Damascus and its surrounding territory.

Judite 15 narrates Judith's victory over the Assyrian army led by Holofernes. She can behead Holofernes while he slept, causing the enemy army's disorganization and his later defeat by the Israelites led by Ozias. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Judite 15:

Judges 4:21: "Then Jael, Héber's wife, picked up a hammer from his hand, and went silently to Sisera, and dug his stake into his head, and preached it to the ground while he was deeply dormant with tiredness. So he died. " Just as Jael managed to kill Sisera, an enemy general, while he slept, Judite manages to behead Holofernes, the Assyrian army leader, while he slept.

Exodus 15:3: "The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name." Judite's victory is another demonstration of God's power as a warrior and protector of his people.

Psalm 68:1: "God gets up, his enemies are dispersed, and his opponents flee before Him." This verse describes God's victory over his enemies, which is similar to Judite's victory over Holofernes and the Assyrian army.

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be terrified, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you with my victorious right hand." Judite may have found courage and strength to face the Assyrian army knowing that God was with her and would help her to win.

Joshua 1:9: "Didn't I order you to be strong and brave? Do not be afraid or beyond, for the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go." This verse encourages Joshua to lead the people of Israel to the Promised Land and may have served as an inspiration to Judite, who led his people to victory against the Assyrians.
