Acts, 15

2. Because of this there was trouble, and Paul and Barnabas had fierce arguments with them. For Paul told the people to remain as they were when they became believers. Finally those who had come from Jerusalem suggested that Paul and Barnabas and some others go up to Jerusalem to discuss the matter with the apostles and elders.

Verses related to Acts, 15:

In Acts of Apostles 15, the apostles and elders gather to discuss the issue of circumcision among the Gentiles converted to Christianity. After an argument, they come to a decision that Gentiles do not need to be circumcised to be saved. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in Acts of the Apostles 15:

Galatians 5:2-3: "Behold, Paul, I say unto you, that if you let you circumcise, Christ will take advantage of you. And again protest to every man, let himself be circumcined, who is obliged to keep all law." In this verse, Paul is warning the Christians of Galatia about the dangers of circumcision and how this can affect their salvation.

Romans 2:28-29: "For it is not Jewish who is outwardly, nor is circumcision to which is externally in the flesh. But it is Jewish who is inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise does not come from men, but of God. " Here Paul is explaining that true circumcision is that of the heart and that salvation does not depend on physical circumcision.

Colossians 2:11: "In Him you were also circumcised with circumcision not made by hand in the stripping of the body of the flesh, the circumcision of Christ." This verse talks about the spiritual circumcision that happens through faith in Christ.

Philippians 3:3: "For circumcision is us who serve God in the Spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and we do not trust in the flesh." In this verse, Paul is emphasizing the importance of spiritual circumcision and how this is more important than physical circumcision.

Acts of the Apostles 15:28-29: "For it seemed well on the Holy Spirit, and we no longer impose you anymore, but these necessary things: May you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and the suffocated flesh, and, and of prostitution, of which things you do well if you keep you. " This verse is part of the decision made by the apostles and elders regarding the issue of circumcision and what other requirements the converted Gentiles needed to follow.
