Revelation 18 talks about the fall of the great city, Babylon, which is seen as a symbolic figure of the world system of power and corruption. The city is seen as responsible for all the evil and abominable things that have occurred on Earth. Here are five verses from other parts of the Bible that relate to the topics addressed in Revelation 18:
Jeremiah 50:32: "The pride of Babylon will fall and will no longer rise; I will destroy its carved images and its statues; and it will forever be an object of horror." This verse talks about the fall of the city of Babylon and its pride, which is similar to what is described in Revelation 18.
Jeremiah 51:7: "Babylon was a golden chalice in the hands of the Lord, who drunk the whole earth. The nations drank from the wine of his wrath; so they are now crazy." This verse describes how Babylon was used by God to punish other nations, but now it will be punished itself.
