Jeremiah 27 talks about how God instructed Jeremiah to make a wooden yoke and send it to all the neighboring kings of Judah, symbolizing the subjection of Judah to Babylon. He also warned these kings not to believe in the false prophets who encouraged them to fight Babylon, but instead accept God's punishment and submit to Nebuchadnezzar. Ezekiel 17:14 - "That the kingdom may be humble without rising, and to keep his covenant, and fulfill it, that it might subsist." This verse talks about the humility necessary to submit to an alliance, which is exactly what Jeremiah is asking these neighboring kings of Judah to do towards Babylon.
Isaiah 45:1 - "Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, Cyrus, whom I took by the right hand, to slaughter the nations before his face, and unfold the loins of kings, to open the doors before him, and the doors They will not close. " This verse shows that God can use anyone, even one who is not from Judah, to do his will, as he is using Nebuchadnezzar to punish Judah.
Jeremiah 29:8-9 - "For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not deceive your prophets in the midst of you, nor your guessors, nor hear to your dreams, who dream. They falsely prophesy you in my name; I have not sent them, says the Lord. " This verse talks about the false prophets that Jeremiah is warning the neighboring kings of Judah not to hear.
Jeremiah 25:11-12 - "And all this land will be in desolation and astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. And when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, says the Lord, by his iniquity, and I will punish the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it a perpetual desolation. " This verse predicts the punishment that God will inflict to Babylon after they conclude His task of punishing Judah, showing that God is in control of the situation.
2 Chronicles 36:17: "God handed them all into the hands of the Chaldeans." This verse reports God's action to hand over the people of Judah into the hands of the Chaldeans as a consequence of the disobedience and sins of the people. This is related to the theme of Chapter 27 of Jeremiah, where the prophet warns the people to submit to the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to prevent the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple of God.
