Jeremiah, 20

10. For I heard the insults of many, and terror all around: ‘Persecute him!’ and, ‘Let us persecute him!’ from all the men who had been at peace with me and who had kept watch by my side. ‘If only there were some way that he might be deceived, and we might prevail against him and obtain vengeance from him!’

Verses related to Jeremiah, 20:

Jeremiah 20 reports the suffering and anguish of the prophet Jeremiah, who is persecuted and ridiculed by speaking the word of the Lord. He is deceived by God and would wish to have not been born. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Jeremiah 20:

Psalm 31:13: "For I heard the slander of many; terror everywhere! They gathered and conspired against me, planning to take my life." Like Jeremiah, the psalmist is surrounded by enemies who plot against him.

Matthew 5:11-12: "Blessed are you, when they disbumed and persecuted and, lying, say all evil against you, for my cause. they persecuted to the prophets who were before you. " Jesus talks about the persecution that his followers will suffer, remembering that the prophets were also persecuted for telling the truth.

" This verse emphasizes God's faithfulness to his servants, even in the midst of persecution and suffering.

James 5:10-11: "My brothers, take, for example, of distress and patience the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we have blessed those who suffered. The Lord has given him; for the Lord is very merciful and godly. " James encourages believers to follow the example of the prophets and to maintain patience in the midst of difficulties, remembering that God is merciful and just.
