Genesis, 28

6. But Esau, seeing that his father had blessed Jacob and had sent him into Mesopotamia of Syria, to take a wife from there, and that, after the blessing, he had instructed him, saying: ‘You shall not accept a wife from the daughters of Canaan,’

Genesis 28 reports the beginning of Jacob's journey, where he runs away from his brother Esau and has a meeting with God in a dream, receiving a promise of blessing. Psalm 139:7-10: "Where will I be absent from your Spirit? Where will I run out of your face? Dawn and I stop in the ends of the seas, still there will be to guide your hand, and your right hand will sustain me. This verse is a reference to Jacob's dream, where he saw a staircase that stretched from heaven to earth and the angels rising and down. He reminds us that Jesus is the ladder that leads us to heaven and that He is the connection between God and humanity.
