In chapter 2 of 2 Thessalonians, Paul addresses the question of Christ's return and the emergence of man from sin, a deceiving leader who opposes God and arises above all that is considered divine or sacred. He warns the Thessalonians not to be fooled by false doctrines or signs and urges them to remain firm in the truth of the Gospel. Following five verses that relate to the topics covered in 2 Thessalonians 2:
Matthew 24:23-26: "If anyone then tells them, 'See, here is Christ!" Or, 'There he is!', Do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will arise that will perform great signs and wonders to, if possible, deceive even the elected. See that I warned them in advance. So if someone tells them: ' He's in the desert! ', Don't leave; or,' There he's! ', Don't believe it. Matthew 24:42: "Therefore, watch out, because you do not know what day your Lord will come." This verse emphasizes the need for vigilance and preparation for Christ's return, a theme that is addressed in 2 Thessalonians 2.
2 Peter 2:1: "In the past there were false prophets among the people, as will also arise among you false teachers. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign who rescued them, bringing upon themselves sudden destruction." This verse warns of the existence of false masters who introduce destructive doctrines and deny God's sovereignty, a theme that is addressed in 2 Thessalonians 2.
1 John 4:1: "Beloved, do not believe in any spirit, but examine the spirits to see if they proceed from God, for many false prophets have come out around the world." This verse urges Christians to carefully examine the doctrines and teachings they hear, in order to discern whether they are from God or from false prophets, a theme that is also addressed in 2 Thessalonians 2.
