6. No one is meaner than the man who is grudging to himself, and this is the retribution for his baseness;

Psalm 37:23-24: "The footsteps of a good man are confirmed by the Lord, and he delights in his way. Although falling, he will not be prostrate, for the Lord sustains him with his hand." This verse talks about how the Lord protects those who follow their ways, even when they face difficulties.
