1 Chronicles, 6

63. Unto the sons of Merari [were given] by lot, throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

Verse im Zusammenhang mit 1 Chronicles, 6:

Chapter 6 of 1 chronicles presents the genealogy of the Levites, including the descendants of Aaron, the first high priest. The names of leaders of Levitic families and the distribution of the cities of refuge are mentioned. Following are five verses related to the topics addressed in 1 Chronicles 6:

Exodus 6:16-20: "These are the names of Levi's children, according to their generations: Gérson, Coate and Merari. And the years of Levi's life were one hundred and thirty-seven years. Gérson's children: Libni and Simei, according to his families. And the children of Coate: Arão, Izar, Hebrom and Uziel. And the years of Coate's life were one hundred and thirty -three years. " This verse presents the origin of the tribe of Levi and the names of his children, including Arão, the father of Moses and Aaron.

Numbers 35:6: "And the cities you will give to the Levites, six cities of refuge, which you will make them set, so that the murderer is welcomed; This verse refers to the distribution of the cities of refuge, which is mentioned in 1 chronicles 6.

Joshua 21:4: "The sons of Aaron, of the coatites, among the sons of Levi, because luck fell upon them first." This verse highlights the privileged position of Aaron's descendants among the Levites, for they were chosen to be the priests of the people of Israel.

1 Chronicles 6:48: "And his Levite brothers were put on the whole work of the tabernacle of the house of God." This verse shows that the Levites were responsible for taking care of the tabernacle and all their liturgical activities.

1 Chronicles 6:62: "And to the children of Gérson, according to their families, gave the tribe of Issacar, and the tribe of Aser, and the tribe of Naphtali, and half of the tribe of Manasseh in Basã, thirteen cities." This verse highlights the territorial distribution of the cities of the Levites, including the cities attributed to the children of Gérson.
