Nehemiah, 9

17. And they would not hear, and they remembered not thy wonders which thou hadst done for them. And they hardened their necks, and gave the head to return to their bondage, as it were by contention. But thou, a forgiving God, gracious, and merciful, longsuffering, and full of compassion, didst not forsake them.

Nehemiah 9 is a chapter in which the Levites say a prayer of confession for the sins of Israel and reaffirm the covenant with God. The verses related to the topics addressed in this chapter are:

Deuteronomy 32:3-4: "For I will appeal to the name of the Lord; Give glory to our God. He is the rock, whose work is perfect, because all his righteous ways are.
