1 Kings, 18

12. And when I am gone from thee, the spirit of the Lord will carry thee into a place that I know not: and I shall go in and tell Achab, and he not finding thee, will kill me: but thy servant feareth the Lord from his infancy.

Verse im Zusammenhang mit 1 Kings, 18:

1 Kings 18 narrates the confrontation between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. Elijah challenges Baal's prophets to make a sacrifice to their God and to invoke him to light the fire of sacrifice. Baal's prophets try, but to no avail. Then Elijah makes a sacrifice to God and asks him to light the fire, which happens. After that, Elijah kills the prophets of Baal. Below are five Bible verses that address themes similar to those of 1 Kings 18:

Isaiah 44:6: "Thus saith the Lord, the king of Israel, and his redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and outside of me there is no God." This verse highlights God's supremacy over all other gods, and how he is the only true God.

Psalm 86:10: "For you are great and do wonders; only you are God." This verse highlights God's greatness and ability to perform wonders and miracles, such as what happened on Mount Carmel.

Jeremiah 32:17: "Ah! Lord God, behold, you have made the heavens and the earth with your great power and your arm extended; nothing is too difficult for you." This verse highlights God's power and unlimited ability to perform miracles and things impossible for human eyes.

Exodus 20:3: "You will not have other gods before me." This is the first commandment of God's law to Moses, and highlights the exclusivity and importance of worshiping only to God, not other gods.

1 Corinthians 8:6: "But for us, there is one God, the Father, whom they are all things, and to whom we live; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, for which they are all things, and we for he." This verse highlights God's unity, and how he is the Father of all things, and how all things were created through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
