Isaiah, 6

11. Then I said, "For how long, O Lord?" And he answered, "Until towns have been laid waste and left without inhabitant; until the houses are deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged,

Verse im Zusammenhang mit Isaiah, 6:

Isaiah 6 describes the vision that the prophet Isaiah had of the Lord, sitting on his throne, surrounded by Serafins who cried "holy, holy, holy." Isaiah was confronted with the holiness of God and his own sinfulness, but was purified and commissioned to proclaim God's message to the people. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in Isaiah 6:

Proverbs 1:7: "The fear of the Lord is the principle of knowledge; the madmen despise wisdom and instruction." This verse talks about the importance of fear of God and how fundamental to our understanding and wisdom. Isaiah 6 clearly portrays God's holiness and the appropriate reaction to his presence.

Romans 3:23-24: "For all have sinned and deprived are of the glory of God, being justified free of charge by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Here we see that all have sinned and are separated from the glory of God, but the grace of God in Christ Jesus justifies us and reconciles us with Him. Isaiah 6 shows how God's holiness exposes our sinfulness and how we need to be cleansed to get closer to it.

1 Peter 1:15-16: "But as Holy is he who has called you, thirst for you also saints in all your way of living; for it is written: thirst, because I am holy." Peter is quoting Leviticus 11:44-45, where God calls his people to be holy because He is holy. Isaiah 6 shows God's holiness and the need to be purified to be in His presence.

John 12:41: "Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and spoke of him." Here we see that Isaiah 6 is quoted as the source of a prophecy about Jesus. Isaiah saw the glory of God in his holiness, and this view commissioned him to speak in the name of God. Jesus, the Son of God, is the embodiment of the glory of God.

Revelation 4:8: "And the four living beings had, each of them, six wings, and to the surrounding, and inside, they were full of eyes; and have no rest of day or night, proclaiming: Holy, holy Holy, Holy It is the Lord God, the Almighty, He who was, who is and who must come. " This verse describes a scene very similar to Isaiah's vision in Isaiah 6. Living beings proclaim God's holiness and recognize His sovereignty.
