5. They crush your people, O Lord, they oppress your inheritance.
Psalm 94 is a lamenting prayer in which the psalmist cries to God for justice in the face of the oppression and injustice of the wicked. He wonders why God does not seem to intervene and asks He to judge the oppressors and reciprocate to them according to their works. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 94:
Proverbs 24:17-18: "It is not happy when your enemy falls, nor does it exulted his heart when he stumbles; that the Lord may not see him and displeases him, and deviate from him his wrath." This verse shows the importance of not wishing the evil of our enemy, even if it oppresses us. We must trust God to do justice.
Romans 12:19: "Beloved, never seek to take revenge, but leave with God the wrath, for it is written," My is revenge; I will return, "says the Lord." The psalmist calls for revenge, but the Bible teaches us to trust God to do justice instead of seeking it for ourselves.
Hebrews 10:30: "For we know the one who said," My is revenge; I will return, "and again," The Lord will judge His people. " Like the psalmist, Christians can trust that God will judge oppressors and do justice in their time.
1 Peter 5:7: "Lancone upon him all his anxiety, because he takes care of you." The psalmist expresses his anxiety and concern for the oppression of the wicked, but the Bible teaches us to cast all our anxieties about God, because he cares for us.
Revelation 6:10: "And they cried out loud," Until when, sovereign, saint, and true, will you wait to judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood? "" This verse speaks of martyrs who cry out for justice and revenge, just like the psalmist. But just like them, we must trust that God will do justice at the right time.
