2 Samuel 7 narrates an important dialogue between God and King David, in which God promises David a lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom. Moreover, the chapter also describes how David wants to build a temple for God, but it is informed that this task will be performed by his son. 2 Samuel 7:12: "When you complete your days and rest with your parents, I will establish a son of yours after you, and confirm your royalty." This verse is the beginning of the promise God makes David of lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom.
2 Samuel 7:16: "Thy house and your kingdom will be forever safe before me; Your throne will be established forever." God promises to David that his dynasty will be eternal.

Acts 2:29-31: "Brothers, be allowed to tell you with frankness that patriarch David died and was buried, and his grave is among us to this day. Predicting this, David spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that he was not abandoned in Hades, nor did his body experience corruption.
