Jeremiah 31 is a chapter that talks about the restoration of Israel after exile. God promises to bring His people back to the land of Judah and renew their covenant with them. Moreover, Jeremiah talks about the restoration of the hope and joy of God's people. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in Jeremiah 31:
Isaiah 43:19: "Behold, I will do something new, now will it go to light; perhaps, do not realize? Behold, I will put a path in the desert and rivers in the wild." Just as God promises to do something new in Jeremiah 31:22, Isaiah 43:19 also talks about God doing something new to his people.
Ezekiel 36:24: "For I shall take unto you among the Gentiles, and I shall congregate you from all the lands, and bring you to your land." This verse talks about God gathering His people of all nations, as is promised in Jeremiah 31:8.
Psalm 126:4: "Convert us, O Lord, to you, and we will be restored; renew our days as before." This Psalm talks about God restoring his people, as he is promised in Jeremiah 31:17.
Isaiah 35:10: "And the Lord's rescued shall come back, and will come to Zion with joy, and eternal joy shall be over his heads; joy and joy will reach, and will flee sadness and moan." This verse talks about the joy that God's people will experience when returning to the promised land, as is promised in Jeremiah 31:12.
Hosea 2:19: "And I will despise you with me forever; yes, I will go out with me in justice, and in judgment, and in kindness, and in mercy." This verse talks about God renewing his covenant with his people, as is promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34.
