In Job chapter 14, the character expresses his anguish in the face of the brevity of human life and the inevitability of death. Psalm 39:4-5: "Make me know, Lord, my end, and the measure of my days what is I feel how fragile I am. Revelation 21:4: "And God will clean from his eyes every tear; and there will be no more death, no weeping, no cry, no pain; for the first things are passed." This verse speaks of hope in eternal life in a new heaven and new earth, where there will be no more pain, death or sadness.
